Company History

At the end of 2020, Jeff and Deana Wolfe, owners of Massa Home Center in Hamilton, Montana, purchased Allied Builders Supply Company in Challis, as well as, Lemhi Lumber Company in Salmon. Founded in 1979 by Mike and Linda Massa, Massa Home Center has been owned by their daughter, Deana and her husband, Jeff since 2012. The couple had helped operate Massa since moving back to Montana in 2004.

Allied Builders Supply founded in 1949 and Lemhi Lumber founded in 1939 had been owned by the same two families for their entire existence. When the next generation showed no interest in ownership, Jeff and Deana jumped at the opportunity to own the two lumberyards located 150 and 95 miles from Hamilton and keep the two companies family-owned.  The Wolfes have no plans to change the names of the two companies.

As the largest lumberyard in the Bitterroot valley, the purchasing power of Massa Home Center will allow Allied Builders Supply and Lemhi Lumber to be competitive with any lumberyard between Idaho Falls and Missoula. Their affiliation with Massa also gives the two lumberyards access to building supplies from distributors that currently do not travel over Lost Trail Pass.

Allied Builders Supply and Lemhi Lumber will continue to support the communities that support them because Jeff and Deana know no other way to operate a business. Deana is a past president of Soroptimist International of Hamilton and a board member of the Linda Massa Youth Homes. Jeff is a past president of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, a former board member of Habitat for Humanity of Ravalli County, and a commissioner for the Bitterroot Aquatic Center.

We look forward to earning your business and being involved in these three great communities for many years to come!

Thank you,

Jeff, Deana, Gwen and Josie Wolfe
